Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mortgage Protection Company ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use mortgageprotectioncompany.com (the "Site") or request to be matched with one of our licensed insurance partners.
Summary
- We collect contact information you submit (name, email, phone), technical information about your visit (IP, user agent, pages viewed, UTM tags), and a record of your TCPA consent when you submit a form.
- We share the contact information you submit with the licensed insurance partner(s) we match you with, and with our own service providers (hosting, analytics, email, error tracking).
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You have the right to know what we have about you, to ask us to delete it, to opt out of certain sharing, and (if applicable) to exercise rights under CCPA or GDPR-equivalent laws.
- You can contact us about any of this at privacy@mortgageprotectioncompany.com.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
When you fill out a form on the Site — for example, a quote request, a newsletter signup, or a contact form — you provide information directly. Depending on the form, that may include:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Mailing address or ZIP code
- Age or date of birth
- State of residence
- General health information you choose to provide (e.g., tobacco use, height/weight) for quote matching
- Mortgage-related information you choose to provide (e.g., loan balance, term)
- Any message or notes you include
1.2 Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect:
- IP address
- Browser user agent
- Device type and operating system
- Referring URL
- UTM campaign parameters
- Pages viewed and actions taken on the Site
- Timestamps of visits and form interactions
- Cookies and similar identifiers (see Section 7)
1.3 TCPA consent records
When you submit a form that includes a consent disclosure (for example, authorizing contact by phone from a licensed insurance agent), we record the exact language you saw, the timestamp of your submission, your IP address, and the form identifier. We retain this record so that we and our licensed partners can demonstrate compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and related regulations.
2. How we collect information
- Forms on the Site. When you type information into a form and submit it.
- Server logs. Standard web server logs capture request metadata.
- Cookies and analytics. Browser-based identifiers and tags from analytics and product tools we use (see Section 7).
- Third-party integrations. Authentication or enrichment tools used in specific features, described where they apply.
3. Why we collect information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To match you with a licensed insurance partner. If you request a match, we share your submission with the licensed partner(s) appropriate to your state and situation so they can contact you with quotes.
- To operate and improve the Site. Analytics, error tracking, and session replay tools help us understand what's working and what's broken.
- To communicate with you. Transactional email about a request you made, editorial newsletter if you subscribed, and responses to inquiries you send us.
- To comply with legal obligations. Including TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CCPA, and other applicable laws.
- To prevent abuse. Rate limiting, spam filtering, and fraud detection.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you without human review.
4. Who we share information with
4.1 Licensed insurance partners
When you submit a request to be matched with an agent, we share the contact information and quote-relevant information you provided with one or more licensed insurance partners authorized to sell in your state. Those partners become independent controllers of that information for the purposes of quoting and serving you. Their privacy practices apply in addition to ours once the handoff occurs, and we encourage you to read them. We do not share match-request information with parties other than the partner(s) we route you to.
4.2 Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate the Site. As of the last-updated date above, these include:
- Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
- Vercel — web hosting and edge delivery
- SendGrid — transactional email delivery
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — web analytics
- Microsoft Clarity — session replay and usage analytics
- Sentry — error and performance monitoring
- Google Tag Manager — tag deployment
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual terms. We update this list when material providers are added or removed.
4.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mortgage Protection Company, our users, or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections in this Privacy Policy.
4.5 We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense of the word, and we do not "sell" or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
5. How long we keep information
- Lead submissions and TCPA consent records: retained indefinitely, because we and our licensed partners may need to demonstrate the timing and content of your consent long after the fact, and because matching history informs later service of the same consumer.
- Analytics data: retained for the default retention period of the analytics provider (typically 14 months for GA4, up to a provider-specific cap for Clarity and Sentry).
- Server logs: retained for up to 90 days in the normal course, longer if needed for security investigation.
- Email records: retained for up to 24 months after last interaction.
- Cookies: retained per their expiration as set by your browser and the tool that issued them.
You can ask us to delete your information earlier (see Section 6).
6. Your rights
6.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes of collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out mechanism.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@mortgageprotectioncompany.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, subject to verification.
6.2 GDPR-equivalent rights
If you are located in a jurisdiction with GDPR-style rights (including the EU, UK, and several U.S. state-law analogues), you generally have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Submit requests to privacy@mortgageprotectioncompany.com. We do not currently market to EU residents.
6.3 Right to withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent to process information (for example, TCPA consent to be contacted by phone), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing performed before the withdrawal.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies in three categories:
- Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function — for example, security tokens and load-balancer state. These cannot be disabled through our cookie controls, though you can block them at the browser level.
- Analytics. Help us understand how the Site is used (GA4, Microsoft Clarity). These are first- and third-party cookies set by the respective providers.
- Advertising. We do not currently run paid advertising campaigns that drop advertising cookies on our Site. If we ever do, those will be listed here in this section and disclosed in any consent banner.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not prevent you from using the Site.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently change our practices based on DNT. We do honor opt-out preference signals recognized under applicable state law where required.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Site is also not marketed to minors under 18. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the Site, contact privacy@mortgageprotectioncompany.com and we will delete it.
10. TCPA-specific disclosure
By submitting a form on this Site that includes a TCPA consent disclosure, you agree that Mortgage Protection Company and/or the licensed insurance partner we match you with may contact you at the phone number you provided, including by live call, prerecorded message, voicemail, or SMS, and including by means that use an automatic telephone dialing system. Message and data rates may apply. Your consent to receive these communications is not required as a condition of using the Site or purchasing insurance. You can opt out at any time by telling the caller to stop, replying STOP to an SMS, or emailing privacy@mortgageprotectioncompany.com.
11. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor security review. No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on the Site.
